TRANSPORTE

El concepto de transporte se utiliza para describir al acto y consecuencia de trasladar algo de un lugar a otro. También permite nombrar a aquellos artilugios o vehículos que sirven para tal efecto, llevando individuos o mercaderías desde un determinado sitio hasta otro. 

El transporte forma parte de la logística, que es el conjunto de medios y métodos que permiten organizar un servicio o una empresa. En el mundo del comercio, la logística está vinculada a la colocación de bienes en el lugar preciso, en el momento apropiado y bajo las condiciones adecuadas. Por tanto, el transporte de mercancías, se encuentra dentro ella. El objetivo de una empresa es garantizar la correcta distribución y comercialización de los productos al menor costo posible. En este sentido, el transporte incluye tanto los vehículos como las infraestructuras relacionadas (camiones, barcos, trenes de carga, carreteras, puertos, etc.,).
